Katrina has always known that she is most passionate about helping people and making them feel safe and at ease, but wasn’t sure how to channel that energy until she discovered the world of holistic health and, in particular, acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
After receiving life changing acupuncture treatments that helped her manage chronic anxiety and depression, Katrina decided that TCM is what she wanted to dedicate herself to. So, in 2014 she entered the Diploma of Acupuncture program at Pacific Rim College in Victoria. She graduated and wrote her board licensing exams in 2017 and is excited to begin practicing acupuncture at Haultain Health Centre!
While Katrina recognizes that acupuncture and TCM can be utilized to help treat all dis-ease, she maintains a special focus on helping those experiencing anxiety, depression (and similar mental health conditions), chronic pain, trauma, menstrual irregularities, hormonal imbalances, and insomnia.
Katrina feels strongly that holistic healthcare should be as accessible and inclusive as possible, and strives to incorporate this into every treatment. She is dedicated to providing a safe and healing space for people of all sexualities, gender identities, abilities, cultures, races, religions, and physical appearances.
Along with offering acupuncture treatments and other TCM modalities such as cupping, tui na massage, and gua sha, Katrina has been training in Craniosacral therapy and will be offering discounted Craniosacral treatments on a sliding scale until her training is complete.
Katrina believes that everyone’s body and inner mind already holds the innate wisdom it requires to heal itself, and is honoured to hold space and facilitate that healing journey.
