Nicole Freesman, RMT

Nicole Freesman been a Registered Massage Therapist since 2003. After different focuses in university ranging from music to nursing, Nicole came to Massage Therapy, which combined her passion for healthy living, exercise, her interest in human anatomy and her love of the arts.

Nicole has had a fulfilling career that provides her the opportunity to support individuals with vary health conditions and concerns. Nicole has experience working with patients managing stress related concerns like chronic headaches, muscle tension and PTSD. She has also taken further courses that help support women during the pre and post-natal.

Currently Nicole is also a member of the Senior Administration team at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy, she enjoys a practice that works with a diverse patient population. This allows her to use the skills she has developed from numerous continuing education courses while combining her enjoyment of education.

Pregnancy and Family Care

As well as having completed a variety of continuing education courses related to pregnancy related massage, Nicole is also a parent herself and understands that the stress of parenting does not begin or end with pregnancy. She knows first hand the stress of raising children, and the challenges that come along with it. She is passionate about supporting mothers and fathers dealing with the same thing.

Stress Related Conditions

Nicole has years of experiencing in supporting those with stress related conditions. This ranges from people with office or government jobs, work related repetitive strain injuries, chronic pain, and much more. She also has a special interest in helping those experiencing PTSD and other trauma related conditions.

Chronic Headaches and TMJ

A large part of Nicole’s education was focused on jaw and TMJ pain and how it can impact all areas of the body. She has years of experience working with patients with both this as well as chronic migraines and tension headaches. More recently, Nicole has been studying and treating those experiencing post-concussion syndrome.

Cerebral Palsy and Other Neurological Conditions

As an instructor at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy, Nicole has taught many classes on neurological assessment, and therefore is very familiar with the presentation of these conditions. Particularly with cerebral palsy, she has years of first-hand experience – specifically with the spasticity involved and how to plan a treatment that works with the unique challenges the condition presents.
